“Scheherazade: Movement I”; linoleum block print; gouache; and collage.

Another old piece inspired by more classical music. This time’s Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade suite. I had planned to do a series of this with each piece derived from visual associations while listening to each movement. I love linoleum block printing, wish I had easy access to a press so I could experiment more in this medium!

"Fatti Maschi, Parole Femmine" means "Manly Deeds, Womanly Words." It is the official motto of Maryland, my home-state.
