At long last! The first promotional image for my upcoming webcomic, Call Sign Spirit!

I’ll be giving these out in postcard format at Otakon this year alongside my buddy Jade, who played a HUGE role on getting this image come into fruition!

As for what it’s about? Well… You’ll have to see! ;)

Look at this beauty, doesn’t it just stir your curiosity!?

Hey! Meristem County Updated!!! Please go check it out.

July 4th, 2012

Ta-dah! Colors! I’m pretty happy with this, its probably the best digital coloring job I’ve ever done. I’m usually super bad at it *cries*.

Again, these are going to be FREE postcards at Otakon. If you’re interested, now is a good time to get caught up on the story, read the webcomic here. And if you like it, please tell your friends!

WIP. Inks for a promo postcard that I’m going to hand out for Meristem County at Otakon this year! Be sure to stop by the Artist Alley if you’re going, this will be the first time I’ll have fan-art-y things on top of my original comics and illustrations for sale at a con!

Once more a Meristem “Update”. I’ve received my scanner recently, but I’m having issues getting it to work with my computer, even though the product info says it is compatible with Mac OS X??? However, I anticipate that once I get this figured out, the comic will be back on track! The eta for the next Meristem comic will be next Sunday, July 8th! In the mean time, why not click on the pic to go to the site and get caught up from the beginning :-P?

Thunderstorms are taking their stuff out on us around here, so here’s an early update of a quick sketch portrait of Pomme in her new outfit. I based it off of “Madeline”! Gotta go, before electricity gets knocked out again, toodles!

Not a comic page update at Meristem today, because I’ve finally ordered a scanner and I’m waiting it to get here! I decided to hold off today’s comic because I’m through with wasting money to suffer Fedex-Kinko’s horrible scan quality. I’m going to wait for the scanner to arrive, then re-scan the past few pages so that they’re all up to par. That means no comic until the scanner gets here (which SHOULD be by next update, but you never know). In case the scanner doesn’t get here in time, I’ll be uploading some Meristem character sketches. So please be patient with me, and check back if you’re interested in the sketches.

This one is of one of the new characters this chapter, whose name will be revealed soon! I painted him through the Procreate app on my iPad. Compared to brushes, this app is A LOT more fluid and multifunctional. It also exports in PSD format with all the layers non-compressed! I’m very impressed by it!

Excerpts from the second book I’m selling at Small Press Expo on Saturday and Sunday. This one’s called Adventure Forte (with an “accent aigu” over the e that I’m too lazy to look up how to properly type in right now). I’m also going to post the full 26 pages of this after SPX on my website, but for now I give you no spoilers.

I’ve also put up this comic in its entirety on my tumblog portfolio too! This is another one, that despite my mistakes and utter lack of skill with paneling, that is really close to my heart. The story is actually loosely based on a real life experience!

Some excerpts from my mostly wordless one-act comic The Allegory of the Sandwich. I will be selling copies of this 22 page book at Small Press Expo in Bethesda, MD this weekend! Afterwards, I will put the entire work up on my website properly :-).

I’ve now put up the entirety of this comic on my tumblog portfolio! I originally made this over a short period of time for a class I took called “The Art of the Book” while studying abroad in Oxford, UK. I was inspired by the imagery of all the preserved medieval qualities of the city and its cute, rustic sandwich shops. Looking back at it, I can spot SO many problems with the way I organized the “panels”, and where I started getting tired and making mistakes, and the quality of the scans, but I still feel like this comic is one of the best things I’ve ever done. Its very special to me. AND if you ever catch me at a Con, chances are I have a copy of it, hand stitched and printed on manila card-stock for sale!

Meristem County Updated! I think I’m getting a groove down for updating on Sunday afternoons now (give or take). So the next comic ETA is for next Sunday, June 24th.

If you like what you read, and feel so inclined, please reblog to spread the word about Meristem! I have a lot that I’m really excited about showing you folks down the story path, so the more the merrier! Thanks for reading!

Meristem County has updated! Introducing the last two new characters of this arc.
However, I am BEYOND frustrated at how crappy the last two pages’ quality is. I color the originals with different shades of gray copic markers, but after getting these pages scanned by Fedex, all of the subtler shades just get killed. So I resort to turning everything black and white instead :-(. I’m hoping once I finally save up enough to get a decent scanner, that I’ll revisit these pages and put up images closer to the original quality.
