Day 2 of SPX!

The second day of SPX was pretty awesome too! I had some family stop by to check out our wares and I wound up splurging on great art again. My tablemates were silly and so were a few friends that came to visit us. I’ll try to do a full write up later, but my brain’s still trying to digest all the things that have happened as of late!

Day 1 of SPX!

First of all, I’ve gotta say that exhibiting at SPX was pretty much the highlight of my (somewhat miniscule) tabling experiences! While Otakon was fun, SPX is much more friendly to the exploration of new and original artists and much more open to looking at original content. It makes me really happy to be a part of this community and I’m looking forwards to more SPX exhibitions in the future!

Tina is a respectable convention recorder. I am just too lazy to take my own photos.

Excerpts from the second book I’m selling at Small Press Expo on Saturday and Sunday. This one’s called Adventure Forte (with an “accent aigu” over the e that I’m too lazy to look up how to properly type in right now). I’m also going to post the full 26 pages of this after SPX on my website, but for now I give you no spoilers.

I’ve also put up this comic in its entirety on my tumblog portfolio too! This is another one, that despite my mistakes and utter lack of skill with paneling, that is really close to my heart. The story is actually loosely based on a real life experience!

Some excerpts from my mostly wordless one-act comic The Allegory of the Sandwich. I will be selling copies of this 22 page book at Small Press Expo in Bethesda, MD this weekend! Afterwards, I will put the entire work up on my website properly :-).

I’ve now put up the entirety of this comic on my tumblog portfolio! I originally made this over a short period of time for a class I took called “The Art of the Book” while studying abroad in Oxford, UK. I was inspired by the imagery of all the preserved medieval qualities of the city and its cute, rustic sandwich shops. Looking back at it, I can spot SO many problems with the way I organized the “panels”, and where I started getting tired and making mistakes, and the quality of the scans, but I still feel like this comic is one of the best things I’ve ever done. Its very special to me. AND if you ever catch me at a Con, chances are I have a copy of it, hand stitched and printed on manila card-stock for sale!
